Little Wings Preschool Coop Inc

Little Wings Preschool is the preschool program run under Wings of Power and housed in École Powerview School.  Classes are split into two groups.  The morning program is primarily designed for 3 year old children but can accommodate 4 year old children as well.  The afternoon program focuses strictly on 4 year old children and those going into Kindergarten the following year.  Each class runs Monday to Thursday with 3 hour class schedules (8:30 am to 11:30 am, 12:30 to 3:30 pm).
Little Wings Preschool believes strongly in learning through play. Children are given opportunities to build social skills, develop fine and gross motor skills, play and grow.  We are proud of our strong focus on literacy and school readiness.
Our low cost program (and availability to government subsidy) ensures that every child has the opportunity to attend preschool regardless of barriers that might otherwise prohibit it.
We encourage you to call our preschool at any time to talk to the Director, Debbie Majeau.  She can be reached at 204-367-2296 (ext 2316) or via email at littlewingspreschool1@gmail.com

One of our favorite components of the preschool is that of our "home reading program".  Each child/family is encouraged to participate in our reading program with "Reid" The Bookworm.  We have a huge lending library of books that families can borrow (as well as some awesome videos and puzzles).  At the beginning of each year, families are given a sheet of paper to record book titles they read at home with their children.  Each time they fill a sheet with 2o titles, the sheet comes back into preschool where the children can pick a prize from Reid's Treasure Chest.  We also count jelly beans into our large jar (one for each book title).  Families are then given another sheet to begin recording again. At the end of the year, all the jelly beans are split between our children.  In the 2016/2017 school year, our families read 2100+ books at home!  That's a lot of literacy/family time happening (which is the very best reward)!!!

It Takes a Village to Raise a Child ~ African Proverb

Our preschool program is greatly accented by special visitors and outings within our community!  Whether we are being visited by local members of our RCMP or Fire Department, Wellness Facilitators and Dietitians with the IERHA (Interlake Eastman Regional Health Authority) or many of our other friends, we love the enhancement they bring to our program!  We also love to go and visit the "grandma's and grandpa's" at our local seniors' homes!  They treat us by decorating cookies with us and we regale them with stories and songs!  It really does take a community to raise a child and our community is amazing!!!
