Little Wings Preschool Coop Inc
One of our favorite components of the preschool is that of our "home reading program". Each child/family is encouraged to participate in our reading program with "Reid" The Bookworm. We have a huge lending library of books that families can borrow (as well as some awesome videos and puzzles). At the beginning of each year, families are given a sheet of paper to record book titles they read at home with their children. Each time they fill a sheet with 2o titles, the sheet comes back into preschool where the children can pick a prize from Reid's Treasure Chest. We also count jelly beans into our large jar (one for each book title). Families are then given another sheet to begin recording again. At the end of the year, all the jelly beans are split between our children. In the 2016/2017 school year, our families read 2100+ books at home! That's a lot of literacy/family time happening (which is the very best reward)!!!

It Takes a Village to Raise a Child ~ African Proverb
Our preschool program is greatly accented by special visitors and outings within our community! Whether we are being visited by local members of our RCMP or Fire Department, Wellness Facilitators and Dietitians with the IERHA (Interlake Eastman Regional Health Authority) or many of our other friends, we love the enhancement they bring to our program! We also love to go and visit the "grandma's and grandpa's" at our local seniors' homes! They treat us by decorating cookies with us and we regale them with stories and songs! It really does take a community to raise a child and our community is amazing!!!
